It is through these realizations and Brooklyn’s vote of confidence that this pilot project came to be. We took existing models of mutual aid groups, lending libraries and food fridges and are now making it a reality for diapers.
We are proud to partner with Refoundry in building our hub units. We are proud to partner with Refoundry for this critical phase of the project - each hub has been designed our hubs to meet the needs and requests of each of our hub partners. Neighbors will be able to access the diapers and also stock them. While each site will receive diapers from our project to help ensure they stay stocked, the most important part- the part that will ensure its success- are our hub partners that have already stepped up to volunteer their time and efforts to sponsor a hub by helping us keep them full.
We are starting with three but soon hope to see hubs in all shapes and sizes - daycares, schools, health care facilities - any place where you’d have access to toilet paper.
