Seeds in the Middle

In their own words: "Seeds in the Middle, named by 4th graders, partners with students, schools, and their communities to create healthier environments to live and learn. Our focus is underserved neighborhoods, or so-called food deserts, to empower all to access all they need to address health, social and educational disparities. We teach how to grow, market, and cook healthy, get At, and engage in the arts. With Covid-19, our work has focused on building locally run healthy businesses with schools - farm stands, gardens, food - so underserved food-insecure communities can create and sustain positive change.”

By partnering with organizations like City Council Member Farah Louis, City Council Member Alicka Ampry-Samuel, PS-IS 178, PS 284, IS 240, and Charity Baptist Church, Seeds in the Middle is helping to create even healthier communities!
